Loynne's Island, self-titled capital of the Western World and flagship to its most luxurious, lavish lifestyle. On this wealthy land of excess, a teenager illegally arrives from an Eastern European country of an obscure and mysterious nature, referred to only as The Motherland. Forged in the most rigid Communist doctrine, he quickly learns to hate this new promise of abundance and freedom, feeling nothing but contempt for the inane lifestyle advocated by the people of Loynne's. Changing his name to Sonny, forced to live without his parents and stranded indefinitely on the island, he sets to find someone unpolluted by the corrupting delusions of capitalism while plotting his return to The Motherland.
